Another three yellow polishes!

Oh my! The extremely hot weather here in Vancouver is driving me crazzzy. I think I'm going to melt soon. : ( It's 33 degrees Celsius right now, but it feels like 38! What's more? At the moment, we're renovating the exterior of our home and we can't even open the windows because they're all covered in plastic wrap. AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!. I don't like global warming! *sniff*sniff* : (

ANYWAYS, I promised that I'll post a few more yellow swatches a long time ago and here they are finally! Yay!

First up, Orly Spark!

I originally got this polish for a pastel yellow franken, but this is a gorgeous colour on it's own as well! The formula is great, same with all other Orlys. I used three coats for bottle colour in the pictures. : )

I think this is what you call a taxicab yellow. : ) It is brighter and bolder compared to Orly Spark. However, I really disliked the brush in this one because it's flat and awkwardly shaped. I understand it was designed so that you can apply the polish in just one stroke with full coverage already, but unforturnately this did not happen. First of all, the polish is very thick and streaky; it takes at least three coats to cover up the all the sheer spots. Moreover, they're also needed to fix and shape the polish around the cuticles because of the defective brush. In spite of my terrible experience with this, I have also heard good things about it from other nail polish fanatics. So maybe the brush just did not work with the shape of my nails. : )

OPI The "It" Color NL B66

A very beautiful mustard yellow. : ) I loved the jelly formula on this one because it is very easy to apply and it looks amazing! This was released in OPI's Mod About Brights Collection last year so it should be readily available everywhere. : )

  3. I only have one yellow polish and it's really bright. Your post makes me want to get that first one; it's light and reminds me of banana pudding. :D

I have one Insta-Dri polish (Jumpin' Jade, which is a gorgeous shade) and I have to say that I dont't hate the brush but I don't love it either :D

  6. Poor Wan, I sympathize about the heat, I can't stand it either. We're "lucky" that this year the Parisian summer is pretty cool. I love Vancouver, although I have only been there once a loooong time ago as a teen ^^
Those yellow polishes are pretty cool (can anything look bad on such nails? ... nope!) it's a colour I have yet to try but your pictures sure give me the incentive to do so.

  16. I love yellow polish! Of these three I only have the SH, and the brush on these hates me too. Ugh I cannot get it to do right! But the color looks great on you. Would love to get ahold of both the Orly and OPI!

  18. I'm looking for a good yellow for a long time. since I can't buy online at the moment, I'm serching in drugstores and such - and found none! OPI the "it" color is the best yellow I've seen so far. it's in my want list for sure...

  21. Skye- Thanks hun! :) I'm sure they'll look great on you too!

kelliegonzo- Aww..thank you so much! I just looked at my pictures again and I think I should really work on shaping my nails better. They look so awkward and uneven. :(
And I don't think I would get an insta-dri polish ever again because of the brush. Unfortunately, it just doesn't work for me.

Asami- You should really get it! Spark is a gorgeous colour and it's so yummy looking! :D

Maestra- Thank you! I was going to get Jumpin' Jade too, it's such a pretty colour! But I wanted to try out the brush and formula first and didn't get it. :(

Joyce- Thanks dear! The "It" Color is so amazing! I LOVE LOVE LOVE its formula (along with all the Mod About Brights)! I actually liked the colour a lot more than expected, but my best friend thinks it looks horrible on me. Oh well, I'll just wear it when she's not around. Teeheehee! :D

chocaddict- Thank goodness the heat wave only lasted for a week. I spent the entire week eating ice-cream and drinking slurpees. :D I betcha I've probably gained ten pounds by now. XD How I wish I was in Paris!<3

Danielle- Thank you! I love Orly Spark too, it's such a yummy colour! I've never had banana lollies before...hey wait! I've had some banana and chocolate chupa chups! Do they count? :D

Pinkginger- Thank you so much! Yellow was never my colour either until I saw swatches of Maybelline Banana Puddin' and I was like OMG! I gotta try it out! :D Too bad I never got around to owing it though because it's so hard to find. >_<

Solveig- Aww..thank you so much! Of course I wouldn't mind!<3

I don't want to imagine how it would be like at 45 C. >_< Do you have A/C at where you live? I don't think I would be able to handle such intense tempuratures. Teeheehee!

Danica- Heh! I just thought it'll be easier to compare the polishes if I posted them by colour. I got my Orly from Head2toe beauty, I'm pretty sure they still have it if you would like to get it. : )

    clockwork- Thank you! :)

flinty- Aww...thanks! I'm sure they'll look gorgeous on you too! :)

Worn Out- Thanks! I think they should really fix the brush eh? :)

adorepink- Aww...thank you so much! You can always try frankening with your yellows to get your perfect shade!

Velvet- Thanks! I'm so glad the weather has returned to normal in Vancouver. I could not have taken another day of 38 degrees Celcius. XD

Lucy- Thank you so much dear! If you can't pick a favourite shade, you can always try them all! :D
And..you can always swap them away if you don't like the colour too. :)

Nicole- I love yellow nail polish too! It has recently become my favourite colour! However, I think I'm a little overwhelmed now after so many swatches. I guess I'd have to wait a while until I can wear it again. >_<

Princess- Thanks hun! I'm sure it'll look fantastic on you too!<3

Inbal- It's so disappointing how drugstores don't have a large selection to choose from. In Vancouver, they're mostly just reds and pinks. :(

Miss K. You- You're welcome! I love your blog! Try wearing some subtle shades if you're not ready for the bold ones. Yellow is a really gorgeous colour! :)

CrazyNails- I thought I wouldn't look good in the other two as well, however, I loved them after putting them on. So you'll never know how they'll look until you actually try them on. :) Yellows are just so happy and cheerful to look at! :D
