My First Gradient!

Photobucket

Yay! So, let's get things started! I couldn't wait to show you guys this gradient mani I did yesterday. ^_^

I used OPI Kiss on the Chic for the base colour, Coffret D'Or PK-151 for the gradient, and Coffret D'Or SV-14 as a glitter top coat for a more sparkly effect. :D Just in case you couldn't see them clearly in the photo, Kiss on the Chic is a sheer light pink, PK-151 is a sheer salmon pink with lots of holographic glitter, and SV-14 is a sheer silver that's also packed with all sorts of glitter. :D For those of you who are unfamiliar with Coffret D'Or, it is a Japanese makeup line produced by Kanebo Cosmetics. Their website has some great ideas and techniques for both gradients and nail art, so please make sure you check them out when you get a chance to! : )

I love the end result as the colours seemed to have blended together very smoothly. The process was a lot easier than I had anticipated. I can't wait to try more gradients now! :D

  6. That is a perfect gradient mani. The colors you chose are just right. I've thought about doing one, but am afraid of how mine would come out...certainly not as pretty as yours :)

  8. Wow, I would have never guessed this was your first gradient. You picked great colors, so it looks really good. I've never heard of Coffret, but I want to try this. What would be your recommendation for making sure that the colors make it look gradient and not just weird?

  9. Thank you so much for the comments ladies!

Kae- Definitely try it out! It's not as complicated as it looks! I'm sure you're going to come up with a even more gorgeous gradient with your awesome nail art skills! :D

chocaddict- Me too! All of the Japanese brands have very pretty packaging! I have a few palettes from coffret d'or, they are absolutely gorgeous! I love how they even have instructions at the back to teach you how to apply all the colours properly. :D

Mary- Aww...thank you so much Mary! I'm sure you will come up with a really pretty gradient mani as well. It's totally worth a try! : )

Lucy- Thank you for your kind words Lucy! You made me feel a lot better. : ) At the moment, I am still trying to adapt to a few changes in life but I should be able to overcome them very soon. : )

Danica- I would recommend using sheer polishes from the same colour family so that they would blend together more smoothly. I'm thinking of doing a tutorial soon with step by step instructions so maybe that'll be more helpful. Actually, I shall get started on that right now! :D
