I'm Not Really a Waitress vs. An Affair in Red Square

Photobucket

Today, we have a comparison of two beautiful red shimmers OPI I'm Not Really A Waitress NL H08 and OPI An Affair in Red Square NL R53.

Index and Ring: OPI I'm Not Really a Waitress
Middle and Pinky: OPI An Affair in Red Square

Very similar aren't they? These two polishes are known to be dupey to each other. However, INRAW is a bit cooler with some pink tones while AAiRS leans towards a more neutral, true red. Also, the shimmer in AAiRS adds a special glow to the polish that INRAW doesn't have.

Different enough to own both?... I'd say no, but if you would like to get either one and couldn't decide between the two, I would go with An Affair in Red Square because of the prettier glow, despite the fact that I'm Not Really a Waitress is OPI's most popular red and is claimed to look good on all skin tones. Both of these are three coaters and are swatched with no top coat in the picture above. : )

  4. They really are similar. I can see the difference. Not enough to buy both of them. I don't have either one. It's a gorgeous shade on you. Everything looks gorgeous on your nails!

  7. It is hard to see the subtle differences. I used to sell customers Affair in Red Square whenever we were out of I'm Not Really a Waitress and they loved it.
Not my cup of tea but my mom is devoted to Affair.

  9. Evil Angel- Thank you! I hope it helped those who were wondering the differences between the two. : )

gildedangel- Me too! After I was done swatching, I looked at my nails and thought "Do I really have two different colours on?" Lol!

rijah- Truthfully, I had a very hard time distinguishing between the two as well. But it helps if you just compare two fingers at a time...say the index and the middle. I have no idea why, but it just seems that the differences are more noticeable that way. Lol! XD

Danielle- Thanks Danielle! : ) My pictures don't do the two polishes justice. They look a lot prettier in real life. The glow in AAiRS was exceptionally hard to capture; it would've been a lot easier to tell the two apart if it showed in the pictures. *sigh*

Lucy- Aww...thank you so much Lucy! You always leave the loveliest comments. I <3 you Lucy! Muahhh!

Katie- Thank you! I had a hard time telling them apart too. However, the differences are more noticeable in real life...especially the shimmery glow in AAiRS. :)

Adele- I love it too! Even though I still haven't worn it yet..teeheehee! But I think I did wear I'm not really a waitress for Valentine's Day this year. :D

Mighty Lampchop- I totally agree! No wonder everybody says they're dupey..but i still like AAiRS more because of the glow! Lol! XD

Pinkginger- Thank you dear! I love both of these shades too! Haha, maybe it's because of the fact that they're SO similar! XD

  10. Thanks so much for this blog entry. I goggled I'm Not Really a Waitress vs Affair in Red Square as I needed some assistance to help me choose between the two. Can I just ask, the shimmery glow in AAIRS, it's not too bright for winter is it? Does it look orange at all? See I'm still confused despite you recommending AAIRS. Look forward to your answer. 11. H from New Zealand- Sorry for the late reply! The shimmery glow in AAIRS in definitely not too bright for the wintertime. In fact, it was released in OPI's 2007 fall/winter collection, so no worries. =) In my opinion, AAIRS does not look orange at all, it is considered a true red. AAIRS is a classic red polish and can be worn all year long! I hope this helps! =D
