Quick Update

Photobucket

Just a quick post to let you all know that I'm away on vacation and will return to blogging in about two weeks' time! I might be able to squeeze in a few haul pics here or there..but no swatches though. ='(
My nails and cuticles are in really bad shape right now..I've been neglecting them for the past lil while since I had to nerd for my finals. *gasps* I must moisturize, Moisturize, and MOISTURIZE! Lol!
The sad thing is, I didn't bring any nail stuff with me at all. No polish, no treatments, no nothing! Sigh...I just totally forgot about them. T_T

Anyway, remember to enter my giveaway if you haven't already! Giveaways are so much fun! I'm planning to have another one when my blog turns 1 in June! I can't believe it's been so long already! It totally would not have been possible without all of you! Thanks for everything ladies! I ♥ you all!

Yellows!

Photobucket

From left to right: OPI Banana Bandanna, Rescue Beauty Lounge Square Pants, China Glaze Lemon Fizz, Missha YE 001.

Swatches are in the same order as the bottle pic above.

Natural light..

Both Banana Bandanna and Square Pants are very sheer and require four coats for maximum coverage. As you can see, Square Pants is slightly more transparent than BB giving it that squishy jelly look. Lemon Fizz and YE 001 are more pigmented in colour; I used three thin coats for both of them. Even though, YE 001 is a tad darker, it is softer compared to Lemon Fizz. LF is the starkest polish of the bunch, I'd go with this one if you want bold yellow nails. =D

MAC Blue India

If you follow me on Twitter, you would've heard me raving about this polish a few days ago. =D

Photobucket

Blue India was released awhile ago in MAC's Give Me Liberty of London Collection. I passed on this polish when I first saw it because the shade didn't really appeal to me. I'm all about wearing pastels in the Spring! Anyway, I started seeing a lot of beautiful swatches on MUA and on other nail polish blogs so I knew I just had to give it a try. I was extremely lucky to find a few lonesome bottles in need of a new home since I had heard that it was pretty much sold out everywhere.

I'm really glad MAC improved the formulas for their nail polishes. Blue India is very pigmented and opaque in only two thin coats. It is very creamy and smooth to apply. I own a couple of other MAC polishes such as Peppermint Patti, Seasonal Peach, and Dark Angel and have application issues with all of them. They all end up to be one big streaky mess. Thus, I sincerely hope that MAC will stick with their new formulas to justify for their increasingly steep prices. =)

I think I'm slightly obsessed with taking indoor photos now! The lighting makes my skin look so smooth and perfect! LOL! Anyway, I've decided that I'll also include a indoor photo for every swatch that I do from now on for comparison purposes. This way, you'll have a better idea of how the polish looks like in different lighting! I hope this will help with your purchasing decisions! =)

Peaches!

Hi ladies! How are your weekends so far? I hope they're awesome!
Today I have a comparison of some peach polishes to share with you all! ^o^

From left to right: Claire's Dreamsicle, Rescue Beauty Lounge Starfish Patrick, Pa A83, and Finger Paints Ripe Peach

Swatches are in the same order as the bottle pic above.

I felt like the sunlight picture didn't depict the colour of the polishes good enough, so for comparison purposes I took another one in natural light. *gasps* This is just so not me! Lol! I never swatch unless the sun's out! But what do you ladies think? Do you like pictures in the sunlight more? Or are you fine with natural light? XD

All four of these polishes are fairly sheer with the exception of Ripe Peach. Despite the sheerness of Dreamsicle and Starfish Patrick, they both glide on very smoothly and appear to have a jellyish quality to them. Both polishes needs four coats for bottle colour. Pa A83 was my problem child! The nail line was still visible after piling on coats after coats of polish. But then again, it might have been made to be worn sheer. Soo...I don't know, I still like the colour though! Ripe Peach is the most pigmented of the bunch and has a fine shimmer to it; opacity is acheived in three coats.

My Easter Mani

Happy Easter everyone!

I'm back from my occasional break! I think two weeks is the longest I can ever go without blogging! Lol!

Anyway, here is my Easter mani...

Photobucket

Photobucket

I used Canmake Colorful Nails Lavender Milk #10 and also China Glaze Something Sweet for this design. Something Sweet has got to be my favourite pink recently! I've worn it like three times in the past month. As a fellow nail polish fanatic, you would know it's extremely rare to wear a single shade more than once in such a short period of time. XD

Some more pictures...

I used rhinestones to create the cute lil bow on my ring finger and tiny silver sequins for the polka dots.

Have a nice day! ^-^
